    Regional Finals October 2008

Hi Everyone, Sorry for the delay, Andy and I have been furiously trying to sort out the venues for the regional finals, everything has been confirmed now, here are the details for the tournaments.

The next set of regional finals take place on the 18th/19th October 2008.

Players currently in a qualifying position are shown on the pub league tables or on the qualifying list that is accessible from the home page of the Poker in the Pub website (click here to view). Please be aware that qualifiers are only confirmed once the pub has uploaded and paid for their final league game.

Please make sure that you are aware of the new qualifying rules which came into place at the start of this season. They can be viewed here (http://www.pokerinthepub.com/about/rules/) and the new rule states that a qualifying position can only be passed down a maximum of three places if someone is not able to attend a regional final. Poker in the Pub must be informed of any changes by Wednesday 15th October 2008.

Everyone is welcome to attend the regional finals and there will be sit n go tournaments available throughout the day for guests and players that have been eliminated. The casino games will also be available for everyone’s use.

You will be required to bring identification with you on the day, so either a passport or driving license. If you do not have either of these then a credit card with a recent utility bill will suffice. If you look under 25 you may need photographic ID. You have to become a member to be allowed into the casino. I would encourage people sign up to the casinos before they attend through the website. Click here to join Stanley casinos. Players going to the South East regional final need to follow this link to register online as their final is at a Grosvenor casino.

The casinos operate a smart casual dress code which means no shorts, cut off trousers, trainers, sportswear, sandals or hooded tops. Please remember that only people of 18 years and over are allowed into the casino.

If you have any questions you can contact us at enquiries@pokerinthepub.com or on 01752 675 375 Monday – Friday      09:00 to 17:30.

    Re: Regional Finals October 2008

Surley your not expecting an answer on time are you? after all it is only week 7 of a 10 week league these things take "time" especially when your clock happens to be a calendar.

It goes without saying it will end up being week 9 or 10 before we are allowed in on the inevitable.

And by that time all the landlords that have paid for something most of their players wont attend because its too far away.

    Certainly pays to be loyal.

    Hi Lee

I can do sarcastic quite well.

Lol what i cannot fathom is that PITP is not some massive PLC blue chip company its prodomentley 2 or 3 key people and all they have to say ok week 4 east midlands area still fooked lets swap it to stoke or where ever job done.

players and landlords can then make an informed decsion on whether to carry on playing.

    Re: Regional Finals October 2008

I think that Mr Rivercard is giving his new Sales Exec for the East Mids/Lincs area every chance to get (new) venues signed up, as Bill has so successfully done in the NorthWest, so that the East Mids can have its own Regionals and there is no expectation for you remaining loyal players to have to travel any further than is absolutely necessary to Regional finals.

We are still 6 weeks or so away (12 week league Gary dont forget) - im sure Mr R hasnt forgotten the necessity to keep you all informed or make a decision, but as said, if there is a distinct possibility that the new Sales Exec can sign venues up and keep them all to their own local Regional, which would benefit you guys also, it only makes sense to give this every chance to happen.

If it does not seem likely for this time around, again im sure Mr R will (soon!) confirm we will have the "pleasure" (Wink) of your company at the West Midlands Regionals in Stoke in October - if you decide to make the journey of course, which I personally hope you will Mr VV!!

    Re: Regional Finals October 2008

Mark as always your intentions are good and I can understand the need for time to be given to sales people but personally we play a 10 week league which week seven was last night so a decsion should have been made by now as the majority our particular league will not be travelling for a regional final as far away as stoke "hardly regional" is the term being banded by our players, and that is no sleight on stoke or the players playing there, we are in the position of the boot being on the other foot I know but the other regions that used to travel to the east midlands at least knew that at the start of the league.

    Re: Regional Finals October 2008

    Sorry for the delay

We have a new venue for the North West which we are still waiting for the Liverpool Casino to confirm that they are OK with the dates. We asked them 2 weeks ago and chase them every other day. The south East has grown too big for the casino and we are expecting 140. So we are trying to agree a venue to house this and that is not that easy, but we hope to have an answer this week. The East Midlands has been complicated due to pubs leaving, though some appear to be coming back and we have signed new ones. At the moment we expect for this regional to have the East Midlands  go to Stoke, We obviously do not want this to happen in the long term. I expected all of these issues sorted by now but it is not  for the want of trying. As soon as we have the South East sorted we will post up the details. Once again I apologise for the delay but we have had a great deal of changes this month. In some areas we have signed up a large amount of new venues and in other areas we have had different challenges. I hope this helps for now.

    All the best

    Dave

er so is it or is it not? we have gone from hearsay to a maybe thats not good enough, Comon just say it! if not can we have a date for a definate answer?

Going to a venue setting everything up recording results, uploading them and giving the players basic information on the league is the job i do for the love of the game, why after 7 of even 12 weeks can we not be told where we are expected to be travelling to?
